Newspaper: The first monthly issue of Desert Christian News newspaper was printed and distributed in May, 2004. The purpose of the newspaper is to encourage communication and unity in the Desert Communities by providing a free forum to share information, encouragement and educational resources. We currently print and distribute 20,000 copies per month through 750+ locations throughout the Coachella Valley and High Desert.
Television/Radio: In March 2006 Desert Christian News began producing a local television program called Desert Christian News TV. This 1/2 hour program was a talk show format with local guests. Again the purpose of this cable program was to raise the level of awareness within the local community of the wonderful ministries happening in our community and to focus on the positive things happening in our midst. Desert Christian News TV is currently a 1 hour program which is filmed weekly in our own facility and includes ministry interviews, musical guests, family and marriage segments and much more.
The program currently airs 5 times per week -- Sunday morning on UPN 13 at 7:00 AM, on Tuesday at 5:00 PM and Thursday at 6:00 PM on Time Warner Channel 17 and twice per week on KMIR Channel 6 during the weekend late night hours.
A half-hour radio version of the Desert Christian News program airs on KHCS 91.7 FM radio on Wednesdays at 5:30 PM and can be heard throughout the Coachella Valley.
Internet: Desert Christian News expanded its website in 2010 to serve as a hub of Christian information in the Coachella Valley. The updated site includes extensive local, national and world news of interest to the Christian Community. As well as additional Community Resources, Ministry Directories and much more.
Statement of Faith: Desert Christian News is a member of the Evangelical Press Association and prescribes to the National Association of Evangelicals Statement of Faith.
i. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
ii. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
iii. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
iv. We believe that, for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
v. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enables to live a godly life.
vi. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; that they are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
vii. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
